The Passport runs with the BB 10.3 operating system. Its powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. It was mid of March when we launched the give away for the BlackBerry Passport here on the Blog. With more than 3500 Participants this was quite a huge competition, but as it is on competitions unfortunately only one person can win…
Congratulations Lilly R, you have an email from us now and you have as well 24 hours to answer on our email to claim the phone. Should no answer have been received by this time tomorrow another winner will be picked.
The Passport’s display is a 4.5in 1440 x 1440 pixel IPS LCD. Inside the Passport you’ll find Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 chipset running alongside 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU.
The addition of a 13MP, 5-element f2.0 sensor, complete with Optical Image Stabilisation, LED flash, and full HD video recording capabilities at up to 60fps make even taking photos or videos brilliant while the 3450mAh battery pack keeps you powered on at least the full day. I used mine sometimes more than 36 hours without charging. This is a brand new US Version and hence has no Arabic keyboard! it does of course work with local carriers.
For all who could not win this time: Stay tuned, another competition for another phone is coming up soon!
I got finally my original BlackBerry Sync Pod for the Passport delivered from Shop BlackBerry in the US. Unfortunately the BlackBerry Store in the Dubai Mall does not carry it and had no plan if it even will be carried. So I ordered it online…
Only downturn for me is that you can not use it with the Hard Shell nor does it work with the Leather Flip Case. But else than that it is pretty cool. Unfortunately the BlackBerry Classic does not fit in, there is a separate one for this one available.
The BlackBerry Passport Sync Pod comes in on 29.99$ and is available at Shop BlackBerry (LINK).
If you plan to pick up a BlackBerry Passport in the coming days you might want to check out the offer of Crazydeals.ae. They are selling as part of the Dubai Shopping Festival the Passport for only 1949AED, what a steal.
As you can see this campaign is limited only for a bit more than five days, so hurry up if you want one. If you want the white one however you will stay pay 2249AED, which is nevertheless a good difference to the usual 2699AED.
They do have as well some other deals running for the same period, so you might want to check out their website!
It tool literally ages to get the BlackBerry Passport Leather Flip Case in my hands. From launch on they had not been available and if available it was not the brown one. Yesterday finally I was able to get my hands on the brown flip case thanks to the BlackBerry Store in the Dubai Mall.
The BlackBerry Leather Flip case is available in 2 colors, black and brown. I assume with the launch of the red and white BlackBerry Passport this might as well change…
The BlackBerry Passport launch and roll out is underway, and we thought you might want to know about some accessories available. First and foremost, here we have the BlackBerry Passport Leather Flip case. The BlackBerry Leather Flip case will be available in 2 colors, black and brown.
The leather is smooth and feels great, will have to see if and how it wears out on daily usage. Opening up the case, we can see a very simple design and a padding. Yes a padding. Well, the BlackBerry Passport Leather Flip Case is different to other cases. For this case, you don’t snap it onto the device nor do you take something off to attach it in as on the Z30. This case needs you to stick it onto the device. Yep, you read right , you stick it! The padding that you see is durable tape that, according to BlackBerry, is rated to withstand up to 2000 stick and peels. Should be good enough right?
On December 1st BlackBerry has now announced plans to have the white version available in the BlackBerry store in The Dubai Mall as well as leading retailers across the UAE during an event that featured both Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
Pricing for the white version of the BlackBerry Passport stays in line with that of the black version, being set at Dh 2,699. Not sure if I will go for it, but it looks sweet.
