This is just crazy.
This is just crazy.
We had been out today to try out Wingsters in the Dubai Marina. I had heard a lot of good feedbacks from several people so it was time to try out ourselves. Originally we planned it last evening, but due to the impossibility to get a parking anywhere around the same area I gave up and tried it again this afternoon – with success. It was early afternoon and the Restaurant was not too busy when we arrived. Originally we wanted to sit outside , but it was still too hot for that, so we moved inside.
The interior is simple but stylish. I liked particularly the bench which goes all around and the Wallpaper with some Gangsters on it. The whole Gangster theme is pretty well done. Even the staff is wearing the cool hats and similar hats you can even find in the lightning. If you read their menu the story behind the Theme is explained there.
[pullquote]At Wingsters there is no time for baloney! We offer great tasting food with a themed atmosphere and the protection of the mafia when needed.[/pullquote]
Well, we haven’t seen the Mafia during our visit, but we had been able to place an order, so we ordered the Sweet Potato Fries as starters and the 8 wings as well as the 5 MA-FI-A-Bone wings, both ordered with the Machine Gun Kelly sauce. Additional I ordered The Escobar burger.
The Sweet Potato Fries where superb, nothing much more to say about them, but they are really good. The 5 MA-FI-A-Bone wings which I ordered with the Machine Gun Kelly sauce had been as well perfect. The sauce was a delight and complements the the wings brilliantly, though I found it still quite some spicy, but in range. The Escobar burger was very good as well and overall there is nothing to complaint about here at Wingsters.
Verdict: If you like Wings in any flavor, this is the place to visit. We will definitely return once we starve for Wings or a good classic burger!

We had been for late Breakfast or early lunch at Ultra Brasserie at the Marina Plaza in Dubai Marina. In case you don’t know it, the Marina Plaza is the Tower on the left side of the Dubai Marina Mall. It has own guest parking available on multiple floors but you can of course as well use the Dubai Marina Mall parking and walk over. If you are coming from the Marina Walk you can as well walk up the few stairs to reach Ultra Brasserie.
For us this was the very first visit to the Marina Plaza and I must say this is a pretty huge place. Ultra Brasserie is located on the Ground floor and you can either sit inside with a view on the water or outside on the Terrace. The ambiance is really nice and vibrant and the wooden floor makes it even more cool. The interior is stylish and the whole design is really chic.
Ultra Brasserie serves fresh. where possible locally sourced, healthy. Gluten Free, Organic food. It is the perfect spot to just relax over a fresh juice or coffee while chatting with friends or colleagues. We got ordered a hot chocolate and a Cappuccino together with a Pumpkin and Marrow soup for the beginning.
The Cappuccino came shortly later and the look of it alone was stunning. I loved the word Ultra written on it. Almost to cool to drink. The Cappuccino as well as the chocolate was super. The Soup of the day, which we could even test before ordering, was great as well.
As it was somewhere between Breakfast and lunch still we went for a Ultra XL Breakfast which I choose to have with scrambled eggs. I was a bit wondering and much impressed when I was asked if I want the eggs soft, medium or hard. This is a question you are not getting even in the most five star Hotels. As well we ordered the Balsamic glazed New Zealand angus beef tenderloin Medallions which get served with green beans, potatoes and mushrooms. The scrambled eggs had been amazing, the Bloomber Toast it comes on is in itself already great. It got served with baked tomatoes, turkey bacon, portobello mushrooms and sweet potato rosti. All of it tasting stunning, and normally I am not a huge mushroom and tomato fan, but in this case the taste was stunning.
The Balsamic glazed New Zealand angus beef tenderloin Medallions (what a title) came on one of the coolest plates I have seen in the last years here in the UAE. The presentation was perfect and even if the taste would be only half as good as the look we would still walk out stunned. The taste was way better than that and easily lived up to the tasty look. The potatoes were very tasty and the angus beef itself was very soft and tender.
I would have loved to try out some dessert, a smoothie, a burger or a gluten free Muffin. But I was already so full that there was just no space. But these will be surely tried out pretty soon when we return, the plans for that are already made…

I passed by Best Burgers Forever Dubai Marina location this morning and found out they have closed down. The signs say it is a Training Center of the same company now. I had reviewed them two years ago already after the opening and was wondering that time already if the location is good enough for the good burgers they make.
They do have other locations open already and it seems the closed down one still operates as a delivery unit. So if you are living around you can still place your orders online or by phone (800 996) and you will still get your Burgers delivered. Just dine in is gone, sadly.
If you fancy dine in you can still visit them in the Wafi Mall and in Tecom.
A new route encompassing the loop that Dubai Tram makes between the stations 1-4 will start tomorrow morning . The new route will not extend beyond these stations, only serving the stations included in this loop which are Dubai Marina, JBR 1+2 and JLT.
From the stations JBR 1 (station 1), JBR 2 (station 2), Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) (station 3) and Dubai Marina Mall (station 4) a tram will pass every 6 minutes, serving the 4 stations. The loop-within-a-loop route will enable passengers to quickly get from one point to another in the popular areas of Dubai Marina and JBR. Previously, traveling between the stations could be long, because of the single-track structure in the ‘loop area’.
Seems good news if you are living in that area and are just taking short trips around.
