another Restaurant in the Dubai Marina Mall has closed down. After KFC and Pizza Hut as well TGI Friday’s has closed down the business in Dubai’s Marina Mall. Seems Restaurants out of the Promenade ones are not really working too well there….
While having down a walk at the Walk in JBR we planned to have lunch at Figaro’s Pizza which is definitely taste wise the best Pizza in town for me but reaching there we found out that Figaro’s has closed for good. Sad news as that means there is no Figaro’s in Dubai. Remaining are 3 Restaurants in Abu Dhabi and 2 in Sharjah.
But it seems Figaro’s is not a single case. Fuddruckers has closed as well same as Pizza Express and Bombay by the Bay and long time ago Ruby Tuesday which is still an empty place since then. It seems that operating a restaurant on the Plaza Level is really difficult as the most people are just running down the Walk and not on the upper level. Even the only Virgin Megastore around had closed down some time ago….
“Global Village announces the suspension of the operations of the funfair rides area, which are owned and operated by Freij Entertainment, until further notice. These precautions come as a result of yesterday’s sad accident at the funfair area, where one of Global Village visitors has passed away,” the statement said.
Dubai Police and the authorities concerned have launched a full investigation into this tragic incident. The funfair area at Global Village is fully managed by and comes under the full responsibility of the operator. There will be further announcements once the investigations and results of the inquiry are completed, the statement said.
The man was said to be hit by a metal piece which broke off the ride and landed on the man’s head.
Personally i have been once in the Global Village and would surely have never used any ride there as they did not look really good to me…
