Mall of the Emirates Evolution 2015 is open!

We had been at the opening of the 2015 Evolution of the Mall of the Emirates the other day. It was the grand opening for the new extension. It was planned for the past 2 years , last year they released the first  part of the extension which was the fashion district and today we are talking about an evolution which ads to the launch of the new VOX Cinema with laser and complete facilities with separate cinema for kids where they can enjoy full facilities and customized handpicked menus like a five star restaurant serving. Vox is the best cinema and one of the best in the world and biggest in UAE with beautiful lounge , can order blankets and pillows and your choice of foods.  They have customized menus and offering amazing dining experience, something like a world class and first in the UAE.

Innovation is one of the driver that pushes them to create an evolution for Mall of The Emirates .  This new evolution will definitely be enjoyed by the customers as well as the tenants inside the mall.

The new VOX Cinemas is the entertainment centrepiece of Evolution 2015 — a 100,000 sqft entertainment destination with a completely revamped 24-screen VOX Cinemas, making it the largest complex in the Middle East featuring advanced technologies such as: the first and only IMAX with Laser screen in the Middle East; the largest VOX 4DX auditorium; the world’s first of its kind luxury cinema experience called THEATRE by Rhodes, combining fine food and film in a collaboration with Michelin Star Chef, Gary Rhodes; and two VOX Kids, colourful cinemas with an adjoining fun-filled party room for birthday parties.

New restaurant venues flanking the VOX Cinemas entry include Dean & Deluca, 800 Degrees, Eat Greek Kouzina, and Din Tai Fung, flooded with natural light from an innovative design feature that simulates al fresco dining in air-conditioned comfort.

Further enhancing accessibility and choice at Mall of the Emirates include the new luxurious valet parking experience, located adjacent to the Fashion Dome and Central Galleria, home to the regional flagships of brands including Burberry, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Prada, Salvadore Ferragamo, and Tom Ford. The Evolution 2015 initiative has also added 1,300 shaded parking spaces with a dedicated entrance. A new taxi arrival facility next to Ski Dubai complements the mall’s direct link to Dubai Metro, delivering opportunity for growth in Mall of the Emirates’ footfall.

The completion of Evolution 2015 is the latest milestone in Mall of the Emirate’s 10-year anniversary, which celebrates a decade of innovation in retail, entertainment and hospitality as the Middle East’s first shopping resort destination. Specially-created exhibitions, celebrity concerts, bespoke collaborations with luxury retailers, and rewards for the mall’s guests will continue to create great moments for visitors and mark Mall of the Emirates’ ten years of leadership as one of the world’s most recognized and successful malls.

Level 4 Parking is now open at the Mall of the Emirates!

I have hated going to the Mall of the Emirates by car in the last months thoughout the construction. Parking was annoying to me and I spend ages just looking for parking and driving behind others around.  These times seem to be over now with as Mall of the Emirates  is enhancing visitors’ experience by now offering additional 1, 300 parking spaces on level 4, as part of its strategic redevelopment, Evolution 2015. Now featuring a total of 7,200 parking spaces, Mall of the Emirates’ visitors can drive up to the new parking deck with roof-top shade protection and direct shopping access to the mall.

Additionally, works on the ground floor parking area are now complete with upper levels fully available to along with the a new taxi rank allowing forty additional taxis  located at Welcome Court 4, representing a total of eighty taxis places.

Reviewed: Logma @ Boxpark Dubai

The other day we had visited Logma in Dubai’s recently opened BoxPark, a chique Container Style Shopping and Dining destination, on Al Wasl Road in Al Safa. It offers a modern take on traditional Emirati cuisine in a friendly and authentic ambience that mirrors Dubai’s flair for combining the traditional with the contemporary. If you did not find parking in the free front row parking area, then you can easily catch a backside parking space ,and even this is not available then you can drop your car in the valet parking service that is provided.

Logma offers an indoor as well as an outdoor sitting arrangement , we selected an indoor table as it offers such a cozy and at the very same time very cool ambiance where we could feel the arabic modern yet classy design. The setting is very impressive and relaxing. The very hospitable team showed us a warm welcome with their traditional uniform giving you the full Arabic touch. The menu is well described and ingredients are well seen along with the posted picture which makes it very easy to choose dishes even without knowing them actually. The music played in the background is as well relaxing yet cool mixing arabic music with western sounds and beats.

We started the meal and ordered some appetizers such as Logma Fries crispy with Khaleeji spices and crisp herbs that have a great taste and feels like a biryani touch. You could never imagine the flavors of eating French Fries with this twist in your whole life. We couldn’t.

Personally, we liked the Samboosa beef and Samboosa cheese. These are delightfully served and mouth Watering, they as well easily can catch your hunger while waiting for the main course to be served. But careful here, if you eat too much you probably won’t make it to the mains! Quinoa salad is also yummy mixed with different herbs and dates that made it a sour sweet salad with a sweet taste because of the dates. Pomegranate mozzarella then served as it blends the taste of pomegranate, baby greens, yellow and red baby tomatoes with their own Logma dressing.

We ordered a wide variety of drinks and all were very refreshing and cool, One of the best Milk Shakes we had over here as well. The LOGMA SHAKE. And there is something different about this one for us, being mixed with dates, banana and honey. Also the Passion Of Arabia that have crispy passion fruits seeds with pineapple juice, and Atlants juice mixed with lychee, passion fruit, and lime. A must try!

The main course which were Logma Shrimp rice, suitable for seafood lovers, with mixed taste of biryani with crispy herbs besides the Logma chicken rice with brown crispy nuts and perfectly grilled meat.

Logma is serving sandwiches as well. We tried the Turkey Cheese and Pepper sandwich which was surely nothing less than a highlight in itself, as well we liked the chicken avocado sandwich that was so juicy and yummy.

At this point we were extremely full already from the nice and tasty food we had. But we were able to get ourselves to try the Lugaimat along with date syrup and with nutella and nuts, It was very light, fluffy and tasty, a perfect ending to the meal. At last we had tried the Chebab Katayef with crispy pancake and vanilla ice cream along with saffron cardamon syrup. Taste wise as well this was simply amazing. A cool and chilling way to finish our dinner we found in Emirati and Saudi coffee which was strong and pure and helps you to digest all the eaten food.

Overall Logma was an unexpected excellent experience with nice and delicious food along with an excellent hospitality service. Even if you are not into Arabic dishes, this will make you change your mind! Check out the pictures in the gallery below!

Vote your Favorite Dubai Mall!

Here in Dubai we got a huge selection when it comes to Malls. We got plenty of Malls covering all sorts of Stores. Granted, many Malls do indeed have the same stores as the most others ones. But if stores are not a reason to go, what is it that drives you to a specific one? Close by? Good Restaurants? Easy Parking?

I love to go to the Dubai Mall for example as everything I could possibly want to buy is there. But I like as well the The Beach for its flair and stunning location. Which one is yours? Vote below and sound off in the comments why this is your favorite mall!

Microsoft to open Authorized Reseller Store in the Dubai Mall

Passing by the Dubai Mall today the Nokia Store has finally closed down. After Nokia had been acquired by Microsoft I had always been wondering why the Nokia Store is not getting re-branded anyways. And now it seems this is going to happen.

No information though when the new new Microsoft Store will open in the Dubai Mall, but I guess it can’t be very long.

Reviewed: Applebee’s , Mushrif Mall, Abu Dhabi

Last night we had been in the Mushrif Mall in Abu Dhabi. Looking around for a place to get dinner Applebee’s caught our attention. As there are not many Applebee’s available in Dubai (well, one) we decided to just get some food over here and there was luckily still a table free.

Checking on the menu quite some things have changed since the last visit to an Applebee’s outlet. The Ultimate Trios sounded very interesting, you can pick three starters out of a list and have these as starter or even as main. We picked this with Chesseburger Sliders, Fried Calamari and Boneless BBQ Wings as starters. As main we choose the Steakhouse Mushroom Sirloin in 7oz and some Ribs. As drink we chose a large bottle of water as I had overseen the Milkshake section in the menu.

The starters arrived within no time and the Cheeseburger Sliders where perfect and very tasty. The Calamari were good as well but the Boneless BBQ Wings have just been very soft and flavorful, loved it. If you don’t share this with somebody it is easily good for a full meal and not only a starter in my opinion.

The main courses arrived just after we finished the starters, brilliant timing I must say. While the steak was just average and partially like chewing gum the mashed potatoes have been pretty good and as well the veggies were alright. The Ribs have been really tasty and the BBQ Sauce used really gives it the additional  aroma.

While I love Applebee’s since Kuwait days I was not lucky with my Steakhouse Sirloin unfortunately. But the starters and Ribs had been very good. We surely will return , but I rather won’t pick a steak…  Price wise we left 213AED for some great starters and 2 main courses which is fully alright in my opinion.

Reviewed: P.F. Chang’s @ Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi

Again we had been at the Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi this evening and we passed by this time at P.F. Chang’s. We had tried already pretty much all locations in Dubai already, but this is the first time P.F. Chang’s in Abu Dhabi for us. We had been there at a good time it seems as the Restaurant was not very crowded when we arrived around 7, but it was full when we left. The Design has the typical P.F. Chang’s charm but here the whole Restaurant is having more light than the counterparts in Dubai Mall or The Beach where the atmosphere is a bit darker.

Being at P.F. Chang’s the one thing you cannot order is their Dynamite Shrimps, and so we had to. Additional we had ordered a second starter in form of the Salt & Pepper Calamari. The main courses had been the Wok Charred Beef with white rice and a Shrimp Pad Thai together with a bottle of water.

The starters came pretty quickly and the Dynamite Shrimps, which it seemed every table around us ordered as well as starter, was delicious and having a perfect spice, just on the edge of being to spicy. The Salt & Pepper Calamari had never been ordered by us before and exceeded our expectations. The dip they came with was just a perfect add on to the perfect taste.

The Wok Charred Beef which I had looked already a two person plate when it came. And indeed , this is really a lot! You should have no problem sharing this with 2 people and nobody goes out with an empty stomach. The Beef was very tender and soft, just made to perfection. The mushrooms which it came with had been amazing as well. This dish does not disappoint at all.  The Pad Thai was ordered with Shrimps to it. The noodles where great and the Shrimps where a good choice as add on. As well here the portion is huge and does it easily for two persons. We ended up having the left over as take away.

Value for money wise 226AED for 2 persons is a good price for the quality and if you consider the size of the portions it is almost cheap. We had been very happy with our dinner and I can say that the food quality at P.F. Chang’s is consistent in all their outlets,
