Below are all available Posters. Which one would you choose? I would go for Frank, Bandit, Memphis and Marty. Or as a series the Fast and Furious guys.  [LINK]

Today is the Future!

Like many other Back to the Future” fans I feverish this day for years opposed: October 21, 2015. It is the date on which Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox, 54) in the second part of the cult film (which plays in 1985) lands in California in the future!

Marty could not believe what he saw in this future world : flying cars, seelfdrying clothes, robots that take dogs for a walk and of course Hoverboards!

The floating skateboard was the dream of my youth and this dream is now within reach. Since 2014, several manufacturers have released prototypes, for normal people, unfortunately not for sale. Not yet…

But Back to the Future” was cult not only for the Hoverboard. Director Robert Zemeckis (63, Forrest Gump”, The Walk”) and his team were ahead of their time, they had visions and their minds were playful.  They created three wonderful parts of this franchise that millions of fans across five continents and three decades have been entertainment by. What a performance!
But why do I love this triologie that much?
First, they are great comedies. They are constant funny scenes, humorous sayings (Lou! Bring me a milk. Chocolate.”) Or even a silly facial expression that makes me smile. Doc Browns (Christopher Lloyd, 76) frightened look when his toy DeLorean catches fire, is still uproariously funny!
Movies that do not just look for the first laugh have just done something right. At the same time, each episode is exciting, with well thought out action scenes and outrageous acts. All this topped with a dash of science fiction and fantastic actors for me among the best movie trilogies ever!
Marty McFly is the perfect character, with which I can identify myself as a spectator. He has goals (his band), has failed to comply with rules (hold while skateboarding on cars that are driving) and understands many things not which are explained him by his mentor Doc Brown.

The chemistry between Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox is great in every scene. We never learn about their past, but it makes you belivethat they know well and trust each other.

Even after the hundrets time watching the films I notice small funny details that show the attention to detail of the screenwriters Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale.  Keyword: “Twin Pines / Lone Pine Mall”. Or that Elijah Wood is seen in one of his first acting performances in the second part (as a young boy at the slot machines at the diner).

The films are wonderfully quotable, from “88 miles per hour” on “1.21 gigawatts !?” to “Hey McFly!” And “No one calls me a chicken!”  it offers quotes that still stick.

Biff Tannen (Thomas F. Wilson, 56) is a great villain. In any age, in any timeline he is always stupid and evil. He annoys small children, proposes classmates and is mean to his mother. The perfect antagonist who understands in the second part, that he can use the time machine to give himself an advantage.
The DeLorean is just one of the iconic objects from the film series, along with Hoverboards and the Flux Capacitor Men dreams came true!
Not to mention, the small gag on where the cousin of Chuck Berry wants  to inspire him over the phone with the song that later he writes together with Johnnie Johnsen.
I could go on endlessly and gush about this cinematic masterpiece, but on this anniversary i am going to  enjoy the three parts again and look forward to the documentary “Back in Time“, which will be released on November 3rd.

September: Fuel prices to go down !

The Fuel Price Committee, chaired by Dr Matar Al Nyadi, Undersecretary for the Ministry of Energy, has announced the revised petrol and diesel prices for the month of September 2015 across all petrol stations in the UAE.

In line with the declining global oil prices, the revised price for the most popular 95 Octane (special grade) in the UAE has been set 8.4 per cent lower than for the current month, making residents happier as this would mean lesser spend at the pump next month.

The new pricing will become effective at midnight September 1, Tuesday, in line with the new system that has been in place for a month now.

Since August 1, 2015, the special grade petrol across fuel stations in the UAE has been retailing for Dh2.14 per litre, up 24.4 per cent from Dh1.72 per litre that UAE residents used to pay during the subsidised regime.

From September 1, it will be retailed for Dh1.96 while prices of 98 Octane (super grade) petrol will drop 8 per cent to Dh2.07.

The price per litre of diesel, on the other hand, will further go down from the current Dh2.07 to Dh1.86 starting September 1, a drop of more than 10 per cent.

New petrol price effective Saturday announced today!

We knew it since quite some days now that the petrol prices will be adjusted towards global prices. Today the prices you will pay to fill petrol in August have been released.

The Ministry of Energy’s fuel pricing committee, which includes representatives from each of the fuel companies, set the new price on Tuesday afternoon. A new price linked to rises and falls in the global market will be set from now onwards on the 28th of each month.

While petrol in general got around 25% more expensive the price of diesel, on the other hand, has been reduced to Dh2.05/l. Diesel currently retails at Dh2.90/l in Dubai and the northern emirates, including Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. The current price of diesel in Abu Dhabi is Dh2.35/l.

What do you think about the new prices? Will it effect you majorly? Sound off in the comments!

This is cool: Darth Vader And Stormtrooper Star Wars USB Car Chargers

If you like the Empire or not is one thing, but another thing to admit is that the guys on the Dark side definitely have a faible for technology. And lets be honest, The Galactic Empire seems to have it all: Cool Cookie Jars, Toaster, BBQ Sets and Fancy ships. They even got the financial budget to build not just one but two moon-sized space stations! And they certainly got power. Lots and lots of power.

Plug these Star Wars USB Car Chargers into your 12V vehicle power socket (cigarette lighter) to activate the power of the Dark Side. Specifically, you’ll get 2.1 Amps of electricity flowing into your phone, tablet, or USB charged Light Saber. Needless to say that I already placed an order for the Darth Vader version.

Countries with the cheapest Petrol in the World, UAE ranks 15th

Yesterday Global Petrolprices has released the latest list of the countries with the cheapest and most expensive petrol prices in the world.

According to Global Petrol Prices, a company providing data on retail fuel prices around the world, the average price of gasoline around the world was 4.15AED per liter as of June 29, 2015, almost two-and-a-half times of what we pay for a liter of petrol here in the UAE.  That given it is not a big surprise that many people are enjoying to drive big cars with even bigger engines over here.  But let’s look at some countries of the ranking:

Rank Country Price per Liter
1 Venezuela  0.06 AED
2 Libya  0.53 AED
3 Saudi Arabia 0.59 AED
4 Kuwait 0.79 AED
6 Qatar 1.00 AED
7 Bahrain 1.03 AED
8 Oman 1.15 AED
15 UAE 1.72 AED
29 USA 2.90 AED
40 Lebanon 3.25 AED
65 Philippines 3.82 AED
96 Jordan 4.38 AED
154 Germany 6.00 AED
167 United Kingdom 6.77 AED
170 Hong Kong 7.29 AED
171 Norway 7.42 AED
172 Bermuda 7.64 AED

Looking at this we are still very lucky here with the prices even being on the higher side of the Middle East. This list makes as well pretty clear why Germany has mainly diesel or engines with a low fuel consumption as the price is very high and almost hard to afford.  What is your point on this? Sound off in the comments!
