The Best and Worst Airports for Overall Experience in 2016

Sleeping in Airports has announced the 2016 Best Airports. The website has asked travellers to rate airports worldwide based on their overall airport experience. They ranked their experiences on these factors:

  • Comfort (Rest Zones & Gate Seating)
  • Services, Facilities & Things to do
  • Food Options
  • Immigration/Security
  • Customer Service
  • Cleanliness

The best airports in the world are those that truly dazzle and delight. Efficient, clean, fun, friendly, creative, comfortable, easy…

The list of happy adjectives taken from their voters comments could go on and on. What ultimately unites these terminals together is that coming to them is the opposite of a chore. Rather, passengers are often found wishing their layover could continue for just a little longer so that they can check out the IMAX theatre, the aquarium, the indoor jungle, the multi-story slide, the spa, or something that they haven’t even thought of yet. All in all, if you find yourself in one of these terminals you’re in for a treat!

As you can see there are not Middle Eastern Airports in the Top 10 Ranking available. If you look into the Best Airports in the Middle East itself, Dubai is making it to the top here followed by Doha. Kuwait is not even among the Top10 Airports of the Middle East. Personally I think that the Kuwait Internationl Airport is still way better than the Abu Dhabi Airport which made it to 10th place in this ranking.
