Every year the British consulting company Skytrax honors, as part of the “World Airport Awards”, the best airports of the planet. The base is a satisfaction survey of passengers around the world. Around 13.25 million customers from 106 countries participated in the survey. One German Airport as well as one Middle Eastern Airport landed in the top ten.
The “World Airport Awards”, awarded annually since 1999, honor the best airports in the world. For 550 airports were scrutinized and evaluated according to 39 different criteria – including: cleanliness washrooms and toilets, accessibility and friendliness of the staff on site. As Skytrax writes on his website, between June 2015 and February 2016, about 13.25 million questionnaires were evaluated for which passengers had filled from 106 countries.
Winners in this as in the past three years is the Changi Airport in Singapore. The decisive factors were for, among other things, the high number of leisure facilities. A glance at the website of the airport shows the number of offers: So, passengers waiting for their flight, relax, for example in a pool on the roof terrace in a Balinese style, go for a walk in a garden or watch a movie.
It is striking that the ranking compared to last year is unchanged. And so there have again made it into the top ten and the airport in Munich and the Airport Zurich. Munich scored among others with excellent medical care by various medical specialists, airport hairdressers or sleeping cabins for tired passengers. It is also noteworthy that there have managed three Japanese airports in the top ten of the rankings.
