Jimmy Fallon and the Roots Fill in for U2 With ‘Desire’ Cover…

Yesterday, it was announced that U2’s planned residency on the Tonight Show this week had been cancelled, due to Bono enduring a “cycling spill in Central Park,” knocking the frontman out of commission. These are the times when it helps a late show to have a house band that can cover just about anything and a host that loves doing impressions of singers with oversized personalities; hence, Fallon and the Roots performing U2’s Rattle and Hum classic “Desire,” complete with Fallon wearing Bono’s trademark cap and shades, and even doing a convincing job on the harmonica solo.

The result is stunning, If you listen to both tracks you almost won’t hear a difference. Jimmy Fallon once again proves that he is amazing…
