BlackBerry has today announced the BlackBerry Z3 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The device is set to retail for less than $200 and is bound for a launch in Indonesia in April which also gave him the codename Jakarta. It is mainly made for rather low cost markets. So i hope to see it here in the UAE as well soon.
The device looks so far like a typical BlackBerry despite being produced by Foxconn.
Here are the still not confirmed specs:
- Display – 5inch 540 x 960 pixels, 24-bit color LCD display
- Memory – 8 GB application storage and 1.5 GB RAM
- Processor – 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
- Battery – 2650 mAh non-removable battery – Without 4G this battery is going to last forever
- Rear-facing camera:
- 5 MP
- Autofocus and flash
- 5x digital zoom
- Front-facing camera:
- 1.1 MP
- 3x digital zoom
For a price below 200$ surely an interesting device.
In a recent press release, John Chen, Executive Chairman and CEO at BlackBerry said:
“We are excited to introduce the new BlackBerry Z3, the first smartphone to emerge from our strategic partnership with Foxconn, which was announced in mid-December, 2013. The BlackBerry Z3 embodies all that BlackBerry 10 offers, with its exceptional productivity features and reliable communications, in a stylish, all-touch design made affordable for customers in Indonesia.”
