a trip to the Sharjah Desert Park, Arabia’s Wildlife Center

IMG_3131we had been out today and visited unplanned the Sharjah Desert Park. Sadly no form of photography and videotaping was allowed so that the picture here on the left is my only one with a proper camera.

The Sharjah Desert Park lays a bit out of Sharjah on the Al Dhaid road, but signs to exist so it is easy to find. The entrance fees for adults are 15AED per person while kids below 12 are free. The Ticket enables you for entrance to the Wildlife Center, the children’s Farm and the the Natural History and Botanical Museum.

We had been in the Wildlife Center which is pretty cool and worth even in summer as you inside while the animals are outside. Sadly a part of the part was under maintenance so we couldn’t see everything but the good thing is that they told us that we can use the tickets again to come back later , so you pay once and can go twice. The park is really huge and you can see a lot of animals running around.

The children\s farm is in another entrance and is not really worth a visit, little ones can feed goats  but that is all you can do there. Going around you are done within 10 minutes. All in all a place well worth  visiting, and much nicer than the ugly Dubai Zoo. It is a nice place for kids as you can see a lot of things. My son just loved it.

Below a few pictures from the Wildlife Center which i made illegally with my mobile after they had taken my camera away:
