Movie Review: GI Joe 2 Retaliation

gijoe2We had been out today on the premiere of GI Joe 2, Retaliation at the Reel Cinemas in the Dubai Mall.

The Movie is full of and stunts. Acrobatic fights are really very well done, sadly all this cannot hide the very thin story line which is mostly predictable.

There are very few scenes which are to laugh about, and if so it came from the fake President.

All in all it is a movie you can wait to watch on DVD or TV. It was OK but nothing great.  For me the best part was that Bruce Willis played like Bruce Willis is. Not emotional, just fun to watch.

As far as the viewing experience goes, it is admittedly a decent one; I couldn’t fault it there as the mighty explosions and the fighting scenes will keep us on our seats, at times even firmly. With the said film, I was particularly impressed with the martial arts display which was spectacular.

Aside from 110 easy on the brain minutes, there was no real substance about this. Basic dialogue, feel good moments, with the hero overcoming the impossible. Bruce Willis was his usual cool but continues the modern trend of the over 50’s men who have been nothing but action heroes so they stick to that.
